Gujarat Lion & Desert Wildlife Expedition :- Detail Itinerary

Day 1 Arrival in Delhi

Arrive at Delhi International Airport, where you’ll be greeted by our representative and escorted to your hotel. Spend your first evening at leisure — stroll through Connaught Place or enjoy a quiet dinner after your long flight.

Delhi serves as the perfect gateway to India’s vast natural and cultural diversity. Overnight in Delhi.

Day 2 Delhi to Ahmedabad (Flight)

After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your flight to Ahmedabad. Upon arrival, meet your driver and check in at your hotel.

In the afternoon, visit Sabarmati Ashram, the home of Mahatma Gandhi, followed by Adalaj Stepwell, a masterpiece of Indo-Islamic architecture.

Evening free for leisure or sampling Gujarati thali at a local restaurant. Overnight stay in Ahmedabad.

Day 3 Ahmedabad to Gir National Park

After breakfast, drive towards Gir National Park (approx. 7 hrs), passing through Gujarat’s colorful countryside. Check in at your jungle lodge near the park and relax.

Gir is Asia’s last remaining sanctuary for the Asiatic lion. In the evening, enjoy an orientation with a naturalist about lion behavior and the conservation success of this park. Overnight in Gir.

Day 4 Gir Wildlife Safaris

Early morning and afternoon jeep safaris inside Gir National Park. Watch for Asiatic lions in their natural habitat, along with leopards, antelopes, deer, and hundreds of bird species.

Between safaris, visit Crocodile Breeding Farm or local villages to experience rural life. Evening free for leisure at the lodge. Overnight in Gir.

Day 5 Gir to Somnath & Junagadh Excursion

After breakfast, take an excursion to Somnath Temple, one of India’s 12 Jyotirlinga shrines located on the Arabian Sea.

Continue to Junagadh, known for Uparkot Fort and ancient rock inscriptions.

Return to your lodge in the evening for dinner and relaxation. Overnight in Gir.

Day 6 Gir to Velavadar National Park

After breakfast, drive to Velavadar (approx. 5 hrs), home to the Blackbuck National Park, one of India’s most picturesque grasslands.

Check into your eco-lodge located near the park and enjoy a sunset safari.

Velavadar is famous for its large herds of blackbucks, blue bulls, and Indian foxes — often spotted against golden meadows under vast skies. Overnight in Velavadar.

Day 7 Velavadar Safari & Birding

Morning and afternoon safaris in Velavadar National Park. Watch for blackbucks leaping across the plains and flocks of harriers circling overhead — this park hosts one of the world’s largest harrier roosts.

Between drives, relax at the lodge and enjoy nature walks or bird photography. Overnight stay in Velavadar.

Day 8 Velavadar to Little Rann of Kutch

After breakfast, continue to the Little Rann of Kutch (approx. 4 hrs). Check in at a desert resort and head out for an evening jeep safari across the salt flats.

Spot the Indian wild ass, the star species of the Rann, along with desert foxes, flamingos, and other migratory birds. Return for dinner under the starry desert sky. Overnight in Rann.

Day 9 Rann Wildlife & Village Experience

Spend the day exploring the Little Rann’s diverse landscapes — saline deserts, thorn forests, and small water bodies teeming with birdlife.

Visit local salt farmers’ villages to understand their traditional lifestyle, followed by a stop at a handicraft cooperative producing colorful embroidery.

Evening free to relax at the resort and watch the sunset over endless white plains. Overnight in Rann.

Day 10 Rann to Ahmedabad

After breakfast, drive back to Ahmedabad (approx. 5 hrs) and check into your hotel.

Evening free for last-minute shopping — textiles, bandhani fabrics, or silver jewelry make great souvenirs. Overnight in Ahmedabad.

Day 11 Ahmedabad to Delhi & Departure

Morning transfer to the airport for your flight back to Delhi. Depending on your schedule, enjoy a short rest at a city hotel before your onward international flight.
